The CPU & RAM specs are the result of my needing to buy a Media Composer-compatible workstation on a limited budget, and HP was offering this MC-compatible workstation at a price I could afford. but when I try to attach it in the "Options" tab, I get the following error message: "Only files with the following extensions are allowed: jpg,gif,txt,rtf,pdf,bmp,pcx,png,pic,wmv,avi,mpg,mpeg,mov,qt,flv,mp4,dko,mot,mcr,dkx." If that is incorrect, then maybe Avid Link needs to be rethought.

I figured that, if an "Install" button on Avid Link triggers such installation, it can be trusted to effectively install the named version. If memory serves, doing that simply installed 2023.8 over the previous version without my independently downloading the version files, uninstalling the previous version, and installing 2023.8. I'm pretty sure I installed 2023.8 by clicking the "Install" button on Avid Link shortly after 2023.8 became available.

I haven't yet rolled back to an earlier MC version, but that is my next diagnostic step.
